Catering replies stopped starting from scratch.
We set up ChatGPT with the restaurant’s menu and prices, then taught the owner to draft catering quotes and replies. They left with a repeatable process for handling inquiries between services.

- The starting point
- Every catering inquiry meant finding the menu, checking prices, and writing much of the same email again. Missing dates or guest counts added another round of back-and-forth.
- What we did together
The owner brought their menu, price list, and two recent inquiries. In one 45-minute session, we created a ChatGPT project and added the information it needed to help with catering replies.
We saved instructions to pull out the date, guest count, and menu choices; flag missing details; and draft an itemized estimate and a friendly reply using the supplied prices. I showed the owner how to check the quantities and totals before sending anything.
Then the owner worked through the second inquiry themselves. We adjusted the instructions to match their tone and saved a short checklist for the next one.
- What changed
- The owner left with a working ChatGPT project, a reusable set of instructions, and practice using both. Reply preparation became a review-and-edit task, leaving more room to respond to catering leads during the working day.
